About the ARIA Project

Background

Space-based geodetic measurement techniques such as Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR), SAR coherence change detection, and pixel offset tracking have recently become critical tools for understanding earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, subsidence, and other natural hazards.

Mission

The Advanced Rapid Imaging and Analysis (ARIA) Project brings geodetic imaging capabilities to an operational level in support of local, national, and international hazard science and response communities.

The ARIA Project, a joint effort of California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), is developing and implementing infrastructure to generate imaging products in near real-time in support of situational awareness for disaster response.
